"A Benny Bear's Birthday party is simple and flexible to organise ... you choose the date of the birthday celebration, choose from our range of activities to raise funds and off you go!"

Could your pupils combine learning, fun and fundraising in celebrating the birthday of Benny Bear?

Children of every generation seem to love Teddy Bears, and we'd like to introduce you to one special bear who started life as a unique educational tool, who has grown to become a popular and loveable mascot for our charity.

For children with hydrocephalus in particular, their disability is hard for them and their friends/classmates to understand. Benny Bear was developed as a bear with a difference - he has hydrocephalus himself, including a shunt which children can examine and play with to gain a better understanding of its function.

Now we'd like to invite your school to be one of the first to run a Benny Bear's Birthday event.

By combining children's love of bears with their love of birthday parties we have devised an easy-to-run fundraising and awareness raising event which, when piloted, has proved to be both fun and educational for those taking part.

Just as importantly, Benny Bear's Birthday parties will help us raise vital funds to help other babies and children as they embark on a life with spina bifida and hydrocephalus.
