Walks

A sponsored walk needn’t be a gruelling 20-mile hike. Instead, get a group of friends together for a ramble through the countryside – and don’t forget to plan a stop-off for refreshment along the way!

It could be the perfect excuse you need for a day out in the fresh air with good company, a picnic and the knowledge that you are making a difference in the lives of individuals and families.

If you would like to organise a sponsored walk then the fundraising team are here to support you throughout the process and can provide you with sponsor forms, literature and all the assistance you need to help you raise as much as possible.

If organising your own walk seems a bit daunting then why not consider getting involved with a pre-organised event.

Moonlight or Sunlight Colourthon - In a nutshell, its a half marathon walk set against the backdrop of Southend by night. Walkers leave Chalkwell Park at 8pm wearing an array of bright and colourful clothing, and will walk a 13+ mile course around the Southend area. Due to health and safety issues, this event is for adults only (defined as aged 16 and over). For more information, click here!

Just Walk is an exciting sponsored UK charity walk which you could take part in to raise money for Shine.

This walk is open to anyone who is keen to get their walking boots on and hike for charity. You can choose either the 10km, 20km, 40km or 60km route - so there’s something for everybody. This walk offers you the chance to experience a breathtaking charity walk over the picturesque South Downs in West Sussex and generate funds for Shine.
