Using the knowledge and expertise of our specialist health, education and welfare teams, we offer proactive support throughout children's lives.

What is spina bifida?

Spina bifida literally means ‘split spine’. A fault in the development of the spinal cord and surrounding bones (vertebrae) leaves a gap or split in the spine. The spinal cord has not formed properly, and may also be damaged.

Hydro and Me - Kids Corner

Integra LifeSciences developed their own Hydrocephalus microsite, containing lots of useful information, as well as an interactive kids corner where fans of Benny Bear can read his stories, do jigsaw puzzles and download colouring sheets.
