Regional Fundraiser (Central)

Maternity Cover July 2023 onwards - (Minimum 9 month contract) 

Shine is seeking an enthusiastic, pro-active and passionate person to provide maternity cover across the central region and Wales. 

Shine provides specialist support from before birth and throughout life of anyone living with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus, as well as to parents, families, carers and professional care staff.  Working throughout England, Wales and Northern Ireland, Shine is a community of over 12,500 members. Together we share achievements, challenges, and information about life with Spina Bifida, Hydrocephalus and related issues.  Shine enables people to get the best out of life.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, ambitious fundraiser to join the Fundraising Team to provide maternity cover for a minimum of 9 months.   

 

In this role you will:

  • Recruit, build and maintain supporter relationships with community groups, organisations, businesses and individuals across Wales and central England.
  • Be proactive within your assigned area to identify opportunities for fundraising and raise awareness of the charity.
  • Manage supporters effectively using Salesforce (CRM Database) data to understand supporter motivations to provide excellent stewardship.
  • Meet agreed financial targets, provide monthly financial progress reports and put mitigation plans in place for any shortfall.
  • Promote Shine activities and campaigns to raise awareness and drive income.

 

Who we’re looking for:
We’re a successful, motivated team looking for someone to join us with: 

  • Knowledge and experience of working across community, event and individual income streams, with a proven history of achieving financial targets,
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire supporters and build long-term relationships.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple and competing priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of the fundraising sector.
  • Excellent organisational skills with firm understanding of KPIs, targets, budgeting, and risk mitigation plans.
  • Full clean driving licence and the ability to work weekends and evenings as required 
    Preferably living within the central area of England.

 

Person Specification:

  • Proven fundraising experience.
  • Excellent organisational skills, including ability to work on own initiative and to effectively manage and prioritise workload.
  • Experience of working with people at different levels.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Numerate and literate.
  • Excellent oral communication skills with a high degree of diplomacy, empathy and confidence.
  • Team player who can work on their own initiative to plan and manage their workload.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office and Salesforce CRM database.

Details

Reports to: Head of Fundraising  
Hours: 35 hours a week Monday – Friday (part-time hours considered) 
Salary: £26,780 FTE 
Location: Homebased with occasional travel as required for the role

This is a remote position, however you will be required to travel as per business needs. The locations includes but are not limited to.: Norfolk, Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire, East/West Midlands, Gloucestershire
