The Mash Direct Belfast City Marathon is now in its 42nd year and is one of the leading marathons in the UK and Ireland. Between 15,000 and 18,000 runners take part each year, and it’s renowned for the incredible local support and crowds to cheer on participants throughout the 26.2 mile journey.
The Marathon route runs through all four areas of Belfast; North, South, East and West, starting at Stormont Estate and finishing in Ormeau Park.
It’s suitable for all runners, whether you are a first timer or an experienced runner, and individuals or relay teams can take part.
You can find more information on the marathon, including relay information and a map of the route here.
If the marathon seems too much of a challenge, take part in the half marathon or a 8-mile walk on the same day.
