FAQs and Troubleshooting– 28k in February Challenge

How do I connect my apps?

What is Strava? I don’t have a Strava account, what do I do?

Strava is an app that turns every iPhone and Android into a sophisticated activity tracker. Creating a Strava account is free – click here. You will be offered a free trial of the premium service so remember to cancel to continue using the free version after your trial has ended if you wish. Once you have set up your Strava and connected it to your fundraising page, simply start Strava before an activity and stop it at the end. Your kilometres will be automatically tracked and uploaded to your fundraising page.

Can I use a different tracking app, or no app at all?

GivePenny can also integrate with Runkeeper or FitBit. To change your automatic tracking from Strava to Runkeeper or FitBit, visit your page and click edit. Scroll down to ‘Runkeeper tracking/Fitbit’, tick the enable box and set your target. Scroll down further to the Strava section and untick the enable box.

Go to your fundraising page and click connect next to FitBit or Runkeeper to connect your account. The next time you track your activity, it will automatically be tracked to your page.

To use any other tracking app, you can add your kilometres manually (see below).

How do I row/ski/rollerblade etc. as part of my challenge?

Any activity that can be tracked on Strava will be automatically counted towards your target. Just start tracking and when you finish your activity, you’ll see your distance covered on your fundraising page.

How do I add manual kilometres?

Complete your activity using a tracking app of your choice (or by working out how far you travelled using maps). Visit your page and click the ‘update progress’ button at the top of the page. Click ‘add tracking activity’, add in the number of kilometres you have completed to the Strava kilometres section and click update. This will be shown on your page and counted towards your target.

How do I edit my fundraising story or photo?

Go to your page and click the ‘edit page’ button. Select fundraising story and edit the description to what you would like to say. We would suggest you include how you will be reaching 28k and why you have chosen to take part. For more information, click here.
