Child/Young Person Membership (under 16)

If you are a child or young person under 16 and have spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus, spina bifida occulta or encephalocele you can apply to become a Shine member with your parent's consent.  Either complete the form yourself, or ask them to help you and we'll connect you with other members just like you.

Parent or Carer Membership

If you are the parent of, or care for someone with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus, spina bifida occulta, normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH) or encephalocele, Shine is here to help. Complete this form and join Shine today to access expert support and connect with like minded people.

  • Health Specialists with expert condition knowledge to answer your health queries, help you prepare for medical appointments and give you OT and Physio advice.
  • Specialist Benefit Advisors to help you access the financial assistance you are entitled to.
  • Support and Development Workers (SDWs) who will help you through any of life’s challenges (common support requests cover care, housing, education, employment, equipment grants)
  • Early Intervention Workers who are dedicated to helping our 0-12 year old members to thrive and helping parents and families to navigate all of the ups and downs
