Family Fund

The Family Fund is an independent charity, financed by the government, whose purpose is to ease the stress on families arising from the day-to-day care of a severely disabled child.

You can apply for help from the Family Fund if you are caring for a disabled child under the age of 18 and you are entitled to tax credits or certain benefits.

What kind of help is there?

Examples include:

• A washing machine or tumble dryer if you have extra laundry because of your child’s disability
• Bedding and clothing if there is extra wear and tear
• A computer for your child, if your child has difficulties in learning
• Play equipment related to your child’s special needs.
