Gifts in celebration

Your celebration could help Shine to make real and lasting positive change in the lives of people living with spina bifida and hydrocephalus.

Whatever event you are celebrating, be it a Birthday, Christening, Wedding/Civil Partnership, Anniversary or any other event, asking for donations to be made to Shine instead of receiving presents is a thoughtful and generous way to celebrate.

Set up a Facebook fundraiser

The easiest way to fundraise for your birthday or other celebration, is to set up a Facebook fundraising page:

Simply follow this link and click the ‘Raise Money’ button to set up your page.

You’ll just need to enter your chosen fundraising target and when you want your fundraiser to end.

You can also personalise your page by changing the title, adding photos and editing the ‘Why are you raising money?’ box.

Once you’re happy with your page, just click create and your page will be live and ready to go!

Make sure to share it with your friends and family so they can keep up to date with how your fundraising is going.

Fundraise on JustGiving

If you haven’t got a Facebook account, you can still fundraise for your celebration by setting up a JustGiving page.

Simply click here and click the ‘Fundraise for us’ button.

When setting up your page, you can select that you are celebrating an occasion. You can also add your own fundraising target, photos and the reason you're fundraising for Shine.

Whether you fundraise through Facebook or JustGiving, all donations will be paid directly to Shine.
