The Harewood House Hiking Event offers an exceptional opportunity to immerse yourself in the stunning natural beauty of the estate surrounding this magnificent 18th-century residence. Spanning over 100 acres, the grounds feature lush woodlands, meticulously landscaped gardens, and serene lakeside views.
You'll start by following the winding track along Wall Side Plantation, then on up to Sugar Hill, where you can catch your first glimpse of the sprawling estate. From there, you'll pass close to the iconic sets of Emmerdale.
Continuing on, you'll arrive at Eccup Reservoir, the largest body of water in West Yorkshire, where you can soak in the breathtaking vistas. The tranquil waters are surrounded by rich biodiversity, including rare bird species and unique plant life, making this a perfect spot for nature enthusiasts.
After revelling in the beauty of the reservoir, you'll make your way back towards Harewood House through Carr Plantation and Piper Wood. These enchanting wooded areas are filled with towering trees and vibrant flora, offering a picturesque backdrop as you navigate the trails. The sights and sounds of nature will accompany you as you pass the tranquil lake, a highlight of the route.
As you approach the finish line, the sense of accomplishment builds, and you'll be greeted with a warm welcome back to the estate. Upon completing the hike, you'll receive a well-deserved medal and a finish line prize - a fitting reward for your efforts in this beautiful and historic setting.
The Harewood House Hiking Event is not just a hike; it's an unforgettable experience that combines the joy of walking with the splendour of nature.
