The ABP Newport Marathon Festival will return for 2026 on Sunday 19th April, offering a thrilling festival of running with marathon, half marathon, 10K and mile race options.
The popular race is a firm favourite on the Welsh running calendar, boasting one of the flattest marathon courses in Europe. The route passes iconic landmarks, including the city’s historic Castle, traditional Victorian Market, Transporter Bridge, modern riverfront development and International Sports Village.
The marathon and half-marathon races also take in the stunning scenery of the Gwent Levels – with its coastal wildlife and picturesque medieval villages.
There's also junior races on the same day, including a Toddler Dash, a family Fun Run and a Future Challengers race.
Newport is a city steeped in history, with a multicultural vibe – complete with a rich musical heritage, artisan breweries, stylish shopping and leisure facilities, plus the largest indoor market regeneration in Europe, packed with local and independent stalls.
You can expect a well-organised event with a fantastic atmosphere and a warm Welsh welcome for participants and spectators alike.
