There will be more than coffee flowing as Shine staff gather in Peterborough this week to explore ways to increase the charity’s impact for people with spina bifida and hydrocephalus.

Shine delegates from around England, Wales and Northern Ireland will be meeting to discuss the charity’s new corporate plan, soon to be released during Shine Awareness Week, 16–20th October.

The plan, developed in response to feedback from members about the ongoing daily challenges of life with spina bifida and hydrocephalus, covers aspects such as access to services, independence and lifestyle choice, research and campaigns.

The charity aims to boost its capacity to support members, and influence statutory services to ensure holistic provision for people affected by these often complex and life threatening conditions.

During the residential, staff will be exercising their brains to explore ways to significantly boost the charity’s resources to cover all that needs to be done.
