Staff at coach companies Stewarts in Reading and Woods in Leicester teamed forces to raise awareness and raise support for spina bifida and hydrocephalus.

To raise awareness and funds during Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Awareness Week, staff wore yellow to work and dressed their coaches in yellow ribbons. Then teams from both sites went head to head in a static cycling challenge, covering the 103 mile distance between both sites, while colleague Matt Taylor physically cycled the 160km journey from Reading to Leicester in 5 hours 55 minutes!

In total, Stewarts Coach Group staff cycled 310 miles and raised a fantastic £757.

Stewarts Coaches have been longstanding supporters of Shine, and Stewarts General Manager Linny Smalley-Ward said: “It has been a pleasure to support Shine. We've supported this great charity for many years, but this was the first time we got all staff involved in a fundraising event, covering many miles in the process!”

Shine fundraiser, Rachel Coombs, said: “Stewarts and Woods Coach companies have been fantastic - we are truly grateful for their support. The money raised could pay for a health education day, to help parents of children spina bifida and hydrocephalus manage the challenges these conditions bring.”
