Petition to end prescription charges for people with long-term conditions

A campaign is calling the government to end prescription charges for people with long term conditions.

The campaign, launched by the Prescription Charges Coalition, of which Shine is a member, is petitioning for system reform to ensure that people with long term conditions can claim all the prescriptions they need.

According to the coalition, current exemption criteria are unfair and at least a third of people with long term conditions cannot afford to collect all their prescriptions. This can harm their health and lead to further GP and hospital appointments, adding cost for the NHS.
