Volunteers' Week 2023 - Day 1

1st June 2023

Volunteers Week is here, and we're starting the week with a thank you message from our CEO, Kate Steele.

It is three years this week, three months into the pandemic, that Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth ll shared words of thanks to "all those who give themselves so freely and selflessly in the service of others." in a statement shared to the royal family's official social media accounts.

Many things have changed for so many of us since June 2020, but the one thing that has remained a positive constant for Shine and our members, is the time and devotion that our volunteers give to us each day, each week, each month and each year.

From fundraising and raising awareness, to moderating Shine's online Facebook groups, speaking and presenting on our behalf, supporting our admin team, offering peer support and experience to others, volunteering in the Shine charity shop, and governing and guiding the charity, volunteers are at the heart of everything Shine does.

THANK YOU TO ALL OUR WONDERFUL TRUSTEES and VOLUNTEERS, your continued support and dedication enables Shine to make a difference to the lives of babies, children, young people and adults living with Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus, and associated conditions.
