Join us throughout Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus Awareness Week for a series of special events covering a range of topics most important to you.
All events are now available to book by clicking here.
Trying to explain the effects of NPH can be difficult. However, our Shine Resource Packs help create better awareness and understanding of the condition and are available both digitally and in hard copy. These include:
You can request a copy of these packs from Monday 13th May by calling 01733 555988 or emailing firstcontact@shinecharity.org.uk.
1-2-1 telephone support is always available from our Support & Development Workers (SDWs) and our Health Team. At Shine we also have a number of online groups that you may wish to join, they're available to those with NPH and to carers for people with the condition. Contact 01733 555988 to be put in touch with your local SDW, to find out more about joining our groups, or for support from the Health Team.
We would like to invite you to add your story to our Shine Voices Video Library. Shine Voices is a collection of videos of members talking openly about their lives and conditions. So far, we haven't had any videos from people with Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH) or their carers and we want to change that! Sharing your Shine Voices videos in advance of NPH Awareness Week will help us produce an impactful NPH campaign.
Your experiences of life with NPH can help others facing similar challenges. Your videos will resonate with others diagnosed with NPH, offering comfort and a sense of community. You could even share practical tips for daily life to help others. It can be as simple or as detailed as you feel comfortable with, and it will be a powerful way to make a positive impact.
Your videos will raise awareness of NPH symptoms, helping people recognise them in themselves and others, possibly leading to earlier diagnosis and treatment. Videos are also powerful educational tools that can help healthcare professionals to understand what it's like to live with NPH, so they can understand and support people with NPH better.
