Living With Spina Bifida

#LivingWithSpinaBifida is a campaign to both celebrate and educate.

Join our campaign by sharing a photograph and your story for Spina Bifida Awareness Week. By sharing your experiences, you can help educate others, challenge misconceptions, and build understanding. 

Join the campaign, and together, we can make a real impact in showing the diverse and authentic experiences of Living With Spina Bifida.

You can send your photograph and story to us by emailing marketing@shinecharity.org.uk or you can post it on social media during Spina Bifida Awareness Week using the hashtag #LivingWithSpinaBifida and tagging @ShineUKCharity

Raising awareness about Spina Bifida with professionals

We plan to focus our awareness raising campaign each year on different aspects of the condition that might affect our spina bifida community. In line with our Corporate Plan, this year our focus is on raising awareness with professionals across continence services and the GPs who refer patients to them. We'll highlight the unique needs of people with spina bifida, and the specialised resources, support and information Shine provides.

You can help us do this by: 

• Sharing our social media posts to services you access locally, or think would benefit from knowing more using the hashtag #LivingWithSpinaBifida
• Requesting our digital information packs about spina bifida for adults / children / schools / employers / GPs and sharing these with the professionals that look after you and / or your children. These will be available from 14th October – please click here to request your resource pack in advance.

Support Shine this Spina Bifida Awareness Week

Shine needs support to increase awareness of the condition and raise vital funds so we can continue to provide specialist advice and support for children and adults living with spina bifida.

We're asking you to get creative! Invite your friends, family and colleagues to join in - at home, school or work - anyone can get involved! Find out more.
