Save the date! Hydrocephalus Awareness Week 2026

26th January 2026

Save the date!

This March, we’re coming together to shine a light on what it really means to live with hydrocephalus, and we’d love you to be part of it.

Hydrocephalus Awareness Week is taking place from Monday 9th – Sunday 15th March 2026.

As always there will be plenty of opportunities to join in and get involved in celebrating our hydrocephalus community in the lead-up to and throughout the week.

Share your experiences

Our goal is to show what living with hydrocephalus is like - what it is really like - at all ages and stages of life. And who better to show it than you! We'd love to share some of your thoughts and experiences, if you would lend them to us.

Here are a few prompts to get you started:

  • What would you tell a friend about hydrocephalus?
What do you think people should know about the condition?
  • What would you tell your younger self, knowing what you know now?

There's a form here (click the button below) if you'd like to share something. It can be an anonymous quote or a full story.

Remember, only share what you're comfortable with us sharing publicly on Shine’s social media channels, and make clear any details you want us to keep private.

Come along to one of our events

During the week, we'll have information sessions and social events for you to come along to, both virtual and face-to-face. We'll email and post on our social media with updates, and keep checking our website to sign-up to events.

Events coming soon!

Get involved

Of course, awareness is just one part of the week, Hydrocephalus Awareness Week is also a great time to come together to fundraise. Not only does fundraising help Shine continue to support the hydrocephalus community, it also amplifies our voices when raising awareness.

Our lovely team at Shine really do put the 'fun' in fundraising, and they have lots of inspiration if you're keen to get involved - watch out for their email in the next few weeks! (Make sure you're on the list - click here).

However you'd like to take part, we're looking forward to celebrating with you this Hydrocephalus Awareness Week. Watch out for updates in the coming weeks.
