The New Health Team

27th February 2019

Shine are delighted to welcome two new members of staff to the Health Team. Paige Gibbons has joined as our Health Development Officer, and Jenny Smith-Wymant is our new Health Engagement Officer. Together, they will be working to answer our members health queries, develop information and services and lead campaigns to make sure Shine’s voice is heard by health policy makers.

Paige has degrees in nursing and is a qualified Health Visitor, while Jenny brings a degree in Biomedical Science, a PhD and a wealth of experience in health and science engagement.

Now they have completed their induction, they will be working on, amongst other projects:

- Improvements in health services for adults with spina bifida

- New information for adults with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus on issues such as pregnancy, eye health, and sex and fertility for men and for women

- A campaign promoting taking folic acid/B12 before pregnancy

- Developing a programme of information and support for parents of children with Hydrocephalus or Spina Bifida

If you have a health query about Hydrocephalus or Spina Bifida, give us a call on 01733555988 - Tell us what you'd like to know more about, and a member of the Health Team will contact you as soon as we can. Alternatively, you can make an enquiry online at http://shinecharity.org.uk/contactus
