Volunteer for Shine

Volunteering is a great way to support people with spina bifida and hydrocephalus.

Whether you are based in Wales, Northern Ireland or England, our volunteering roles are varied and can be flexible in terms of the time and commitment you can give, enabling you to help Shine make a positive difference to people’s lives.

Here are just some of our regular and adhoc volunteering roles;

  • Ambassadors: Being the friendly face of Shine in their local community. Representing Shine at community events and talks, organising fundraising events in aid of the Shine, distributing collection tins in their local community, promoting Shine via social media.
  • Fundraisers and supporters who take on various challenges and can include anything from marathons and sky dives to cakes bakes and quizzes.
  • Head Office Volunteers (Peterborough).
  • Social media support.
  • Focus group volunteers who help to review and develop Shine information and resources, sharing their expertise and knowledge with other Shine members.
  • Trustees - who oversee and support the running of the charity.
  • Event Volunteers - who can have a variety of roles, depending on skills and interests.
  • Project Specific Volunteer roles - working within Shine’s teams.
