We’re inviting you to get involved this Spina Bifida Awareness Week!

Are you a keen baker? Enjoy getting your steps in? Or maybe your workplace loves to come together to fundraise and raise awareness. However you choose to take part, there are plenty of ways to support Shine — and our fundraising team is here to help every step of the way.

Spina Bifida Awareness Week takes place from 20th to 26th October 2025, and with your support this Spina Bifida Awareness Week, you will be increasing awareness of spina bifida and raising vital funds so that Shine can continue to provide specialist advice and support services to those affected by the conditions.

Spina Bifida Awareness Day is for everyone!

Here are some of the ways you can take part this October.

By taking part, you can help families like Noah...

"We started to see real people, real children, real families living life with spina bifida, which helped us find our hope again”.

Noah’s mum, Louise, speaks about her experiences during pregnancy and the help our online support groups gave their family hope from hearing real stories from the families we support. We love hearing how inspiring Noah is to his family and friends by taking his ‘life by the reigns and taking full charge’.
