Shine's Specialist services

We provide specialist support pre-birth and beyond for anyone living with spina bifida, hydrocephalus and associated conditions, as well as to parents, families, carers and professional health and social care staff.

We work on a national level to provide these services through the following specialist service teams:

Online groups

Our regional and national Facebook support groups have hundreds of members. There's always someone online to chat, if you are struggling with a new diagnosis, or are just having a bad day.

Benny and Bella Club

The Benny and Bella Bear Club is for Shine members in the UK up to 11 years old, and their brothers and sisters. Benny and Bella are very special bears. Benny has hydrocephalus and Bella has spina bifida. The bears help children to learn about the conditions.
